This Privacy Policy describes how the "Hilal Snap" application handles data. Our application is designed as a precision astronomical instrument and observation tool that processes data locally on your device. We are committed to maintaining your privacy and ensuring that no personal information is collected, stored on remote servers, or transmitted to third parties.

1. Local Data Processing & Storage

Hilal Snap processes all sensitive data locally on your device. The application uses the following features exclusively for its functionality:

• Location Data (GPS): Used ONLY to calculate the astronomical position (Azimuth, Altitude, Elongation) of the Sun and Moon relative to your specific coordinates. This calculation happens in real-time on your device's processor. We do not track, store, or transmit your location history.
• Camera & Augmented Reality (AR): The camera feed is processed locally to display AR overlays that guide you to celestial objects. No video feed is sent to cloud servers.
• Device Sensors: Compass, accelerometer, and gyroscope data are used to determine device orientation for the AR display and horizon leveling.
• Local Files: Photos and videos you capture are stored directly in your device's gallery/storage.

2. No Remote Data Transmission

This application does not transmit, sync, or upload your data to any remote servers, cloud services, or external servers. All data remains entirely on your device. Your observation data, location, and photos are not shared with us, backup services, or any third party.

3. Data Security

Because the application is designed to process data locally and does not transmit information to external servers, the risk of data interception or breach through network transmission is practically eliminated. However, we recommend:

• Keeping your device locked with a strong PIN or biometric authentication to protect your stored photos/videos.
• Keeping your device's operating system updated.
• Reviewing gallery permissions periodically.

4. Third-Party Services

This application does not integrate with or use any third-party services for data collection or tracking, including:

• Advertising networks or ad tracking services
• Analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Firebase, Mixpanel, etc.)
• Cloud storage services (unless you manually back up your device)
• User tracking or profiling services

Note: The app interacts with standard Android/iOS system services (like Location Fusion Provider) to obtain coordinates, which are governed by the OS provider's privacy policies.

5. Permissions

Hilal Snap requests only the permissions necessary for its core astronomical functions:

• ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION / ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION: Required to perform precise astronomical calculations (Hisab) based on your position.
• CAMERA: Required for the Augmented Reality (AR) view and capturing photos/videos.
• RECORD_AUDIO: Optional permission, used only if you choose to record audio with your observation videos.
• WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / READ_MEDIA_IMAGES: Required to save your captured photos and videos to your device's gallery.

If you deny these permissions, the respective features (AR, Location-based calculation, Saving) will not function.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

All data (photos, videos, settings) is stored locally on your device. You have complete control over your data:

• Individual Deletion: You can delete photos/videos via your device's Gallery app.
• Complete Deletion: Uninstalling the application will remove all app-specific settings and cache. Photos saved to the public gallery will remain until you delete them.

We retain no copies of your data on our servers or elsewhere.

7. Children's Privacy

Hilal Snap can be used by individuals of any age, including minors, for educational and scientific purposes. Since the application does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information—including names, ages, or any identifying data—it complies with children's privacy regulations. Parents and guardians can safely allow children to use this application.

8. International Compliance

This application complies with major global privacy regulations, including:

• GDPR (European Union): Since no personal data is transmitted to external servers, GDPR requirements are satisfied through local-only processing.
• CCPA (California, USA): No personal data is collected, sold, or shared.
• UU PDP 2022 (Indonesia): No personal data is processed or transmitted outside personal device storage.

9. Open-Source Notice

The code for parts of this application's algorithms may be available in open-source repositories. The privacy guarantees described in this document apply to the official version distributed by Dr. Sapto Labs. If you download, modify, or compile the source code independently, the resulting privacy characteristics may differ.

10. Your Rights

Since all data is stored locally on your device and not on our servers, you have complete control and ownership of your information:

• Right to Access: All your data (photos, location info) is accessible to you directly through the application interface.
• Right to Modify/Delete: You can manage your media files directly through your device's file manager.

11. Scientific Disclaimer

Hilal Snap is an astronomical calculation tool and observation aid. While it uses the high-precision NASA JPL DE440 algorithm, the determination of religious dates (such as the start of Ramadan) is subject to the official decisions of religious authorities (e.g., Isbat Session). This application is intended as a scientific reference tool.

12. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated to reflect changes in functionality, legal requirements, or development practices. Updates will be posted in this document and, if possible, through notices in the application or the app store listing. Your continued use of the application following changes to this policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
